Let's start with the word "endocannabinoid." "Cannabinoid" comes from "cannabis," and "endo" is short for "endogenous," which means that it is produced naturally inside of your body. Simply stated "endocannabinoid" means cannabis-like substances that naturally occur inside us.

The ECS itself is made up of three parts:

• Receptors in the nervous system and throughout your body that endocannabinoids and cannabinoids bond with

• Enzymes that help break down endocannabinoids and cannabinoids

• Endocannabinoids

The ECS  is a natural part of the body, and  it's a crucial one.

Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells.
