Everybody is unique and requires something different in finding success and reaching goals.

First off, I would like to thank our email subscribers that continue to grow each month. We have well over 60K to date which is a dream come true. We look forward to expanding our ohana (family).
As a continuation of last month's message on FITNESS we find ourselves here once again. As many of you know in 2024 I fractured my ankle and had other injuries. This can be be very frustrating and overwhelming. There are other setbacks of loss in life that can also bring you to a place of darkness and feeling defeated or sometimes confronting your own mortality. Especially as we enter our mid life years. It can be numbing, terrifying and sometimes asking yourself what is the point. Depression is real for many when these challenges in life occur. Keep in mind your never alone and this beautiful journey we are on is unique and as special as you.
Which brings me to YOU!
Finding the beauty of you brings peace and a zest for life of truly living. Being the best version of yourself is the key to happiness and joyful memories. Fitness and nutrition must be a part in order to maximize your journey. I understand we all fall off the wagon as the dark times magnify our worst fears. However, the beauty of our best times are a far greater reward in this journey. This growth is a natural part of our journey and its ok to fall down once in awhile. While I was injured I couldnt or wouldnt focus on physical fitness. As crazy as it seemed I was terrified and frozen into non action. Every time I thought about it I had this overwhelming fear of bones breaking and hurting myself again. I really wanted to get my training certificates and couldnt at the time. I was my worst fear and enemy at the time. I wanted to make changes but loss and injury had me just frozen. However, I was able to take courses in the other goal of becoming a nutritionist. I had been taking the course work for almost a year to complete my program and becoming a nutritionist. Although I have finished degrees in the past I truly believe in ongoing education for myself. The zest for learning is great for personal growth and keeping focused. This has also helped me learn so much about food and many aspects of America's problem with being successful with nutrition. America has unique problems from labeling, processing and a need for quick and easy solutions that have become our crutch.
This summer I will be traveling through Europe to cities that have amazing life longevity. I want to understand their secrets to living longer and having more centenarians per capita than anywhere else in the world. Is it the food supply, ideology of life, religion or something else all together.
Your wellness plan has to fit you with a form of balance, hard work, and things you truly enjoy and find fun in doing. While in Jamaica last month I discovered how much I enjoy cycling.
My routine is changing as Iam changing through my discovery of experiences. I have to have a balance of activities that I enjoy and things that are required too. I know I thrive outdoors and a large part of my success with my fitness goals will be outside. However, as I am an aging female and I must focus on weight training. Maintaining my muscle mass and bone health etc. is a vital part of success. Indoors for me is not as fun! So, I have created a plan to reward myself with those activities I love when I achieve my weight training goals for the week. Like I said, you must find what works for you. If you have a trainer they have to know what motivates and inspires YOU! I hope you all experiment and try new things to find what you enjoy! This is where you will find success! No shortcuts, quick fixes or gimmicks!
So, as I promised last month here is my update on my progress for 2025.

Sometimes you have to do things that are hard but it will be worth it. Find what works for you and above all else -Enjoy being YOU!
